Imperial Dam BLM - Feb. 1, 2013

Welcome to our first Blog which we have set up to help the Grand Kids keep track of us as we wander around.  Others are invited to review and comment.

We have mapped out our trek to help you follow us as we enjoy our travels.

THE HEAVY BLACK LINE IS WHERE WE HAVE PULLED OUR TRAILER.  THE NUMBERS ARE WHERE WE STAYED AND SHOW THE NUMBER OF DAYS SINCE WE'VE LEFT HOME.

This first posting comes from the Imperial Dam, just north of Yuma, Arizona.  It is on BLM (Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management) lands in the long-term visitor's area.  Water, sewer, and water are available on site.  All for a cost of $40.00 for two weeks or $180.00 for camping between September 15th and April 15th.

OUR SPOT ON THE DESERT

Activities are much like those in a regular RV Park.  They have a library set up in an old Air Stream trailer in a place called Skunk Hollow .  Some people have mail boxes for newspaper delivery.  Pat went to an aerobics class this morning.

After aerobics class, it was craft time with Kristi showing Pat and +Kate how to decorate some of the local rocks that seem to be everywhere.

Later in the day, we sat around the fire pit and reminisced about the day and the past two weeks in Quartzsite.

Then came dusk as we wandered back to our RV.

Now that I have the blog up and running, I will fill in the blanks from the past few weeks as I have time available.

GOOD NIGHT!!
